Short answer
Choose extra capacity when your own manager can assign the work, review quality and handle exceptions. Choose a managed service when you want a provider to run one recurring workflow with named people, finished outputs, quality checks and clear buyer approvals. BPO is a delivery model, nearshore is geography, and AI is a capability; they can be combined rather than treated as exclusive alternatives.
Illustrative example, not a customer result. For an enquiry-to-proposal workflow, a named operator maintains the enquiry tracker, prepares proposal drafts and follows up inside your CRM. XCAILE manages the agreed tasks and checks; you approve prices and commercial commitments. Unclear requirements, technical questions and exceptions return to the named person on your team.

Buying questions
Defined work, responsible roles, AI use, access controls, quality review, exception handling, reporting, service levels, change control and transition support.
Inspect who performs the work, what finished outputs look like, how errors are caught, who can approve changes and how the service exits or expands.
Pricing can be role-, capacity-, milestone- or scope-based. The proposal should state assumptions, included capacity, exclusions and change triggers.
Send the role and the country, or the decision you are stuck on. A person replies in writing.
